Ellisse Sawyers is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been serving individuals and families in the mental health field since 2017. She has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults in a variety of settings, including outpatient counseling and school-based services. Prior to becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor, Ellisse worked as both an elementary and middle school counselor, giving her valuable insight into the unique challenges faced by children, teens, and families.

 

Ellisse takes a person-centered approach to therapy, believing that each individual is the expert on their own life. She strives to create a supportive, compassionate, and judgment-free environment where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Her goal is to help clients identify their strengths, build resilience, and create meaningful change that aligns with their personal values and goals.

Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), strengths-based interventions, and other evidence-based approaches, Ellisse tailors treatment to meet the unique needs of each client. She has experience supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma, eating disorders, behavioral concerns, personality disorders, and life transitions.

Ellisse is passionate about helping clients gain insight, develop effective coping strategies, and move toward greater confidence, balance, and overall well-being. She works collaboratively with clients to establish goals that are meaningful and achievable, empowering them to create lasting positive change in their lives.

 

Ellisse currently provides outpatient therapy services via telehealth and in-person in Galax. Currently, Ellisse is accepting self-pay referrals as we await insurance approval.

Ellisse is also available for Residents in Counseling seeking clinical supervision during their residency.
