What is AcuDetox?
AcuDetox is a calming, evidence-informed wellness service offered at Body and Mindfully Healthy to support emotional regulation, stress relief, and overall well-being. It is a non-verbal, low-barrier intervention that can be especially helpful when talking feels hard or when your nervous system feels overwhelmed.

AcuDetox uses a standardized auricular acupuncture protocol, meaning very small, sterile needles are placed at specific points on the ear that are known to support the nervous system. Sessions are quiet, grounding, and designed to help your body move out of “high alert” and into a state of greater balance.
What AcuDetox Can Support?
Clients often seek AcuDetox as a complementary support for:

-
Anxiety and chronic stress
-
Trauma and nervous system dysregulation
-
Depression or emotional heaviness
-
Substance use recovery or cravings
-
Sleep difficulties
-
Grief and emotional overwhelm
-
Burnout and compassion fatigue
Many people describe AcuDetox as deeply calming, even when other interventions have felt too intense or activating.
What to Expect
During an AcuDetox session:

-
You will sit comfortably in a calm, supportive space
-
Five very small, sterile, single-use needles are gently placed in each ear
-
You’ll rest quietly for approximately 30–45 minutes
-
No talking is required though support is available if needed
You may notice sensations such as warmth, heaviness, relaxation, or emotional release. Each person’s experience is unique.

AcuDetox is not a replacement for therapy or medical care, but it can be a powerful complement to counseling and other wellness supports.
Who May Benefit Most?
AcuDetox can be especially helpful for individuals who:

Feel “stuck” in fight-or-flight or shutdown
Have difficulty calming their body even when they understand things cognitively
Are early in trauma or recovery work
Want a non-verbal, body-based option for support

You do not need prior experience with acupuncture to participate.
