Kelly Mulder is a Resident in Counseling dedicated to helping adults create meaningful, sustainable change while supporting their overall well-being. She believes therapy begins by meeting each person where they are and creating a collaborative space to explore the thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and experiences shaping their lives.
Kelly recognizes that meaningful change often happens gradually. Small shifts in how we understand ourselves, respond to challenges, and care for our needs can build over time into significant changes in how we experience our lives.
Kelly works with adults ages 18 and older, with areas of focus including anxiety, depression, grief, burnout, and life transitions. She also has a particular interest in supporting individuals navigating autoimmune conditions and the emotional and lifestyle challenges that can accompany chronic health concerns, including adjusting to dietary changes as part of their overall care.
Taking a whole-person perspective, Kelly helps clients consider how the different pieces of their lives, including emotional well-being, relationships, physical wellness, stress, routines, and personal values, interact and influence one another. Her goal is to help clients better understand these connections while identifying realistic changes that support the life they want to build.
Kelly’s therapeutic approach is client-centered and incorporates evidence-based practices including Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). She tailors counseling to the needs and goals of each individual rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.
Outside of counseling, Kelly has a strong interest in physical fitness and teaches boutique fitness classes ranging from strength training to yoga. She also enjoys sewing, reading, walking, running, lifting weights, and spending time with her four children.
Kelly provides telehealth counseling for adults throughout Virginia, offering clients the flexibility to access supportive, individualized care from wherever they feel most comfortable.
Kelly is currently welcoming Commercial Cigna, Commercial & Medicaid Anthem / Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Commercial Optum/UnitedHealthcare, as well as self-pay clients at our new Radford office. Additional insurance credentialing is in progress.. Self-pay and out-of-network billing are options, as well.
Kelly is under the clinical supervision of Rebecca Worrell, LPC.
