Meet Hannah Morgan, Resident in Counseling: Helping Teens and Young Adults Navigate Life's Uncertainties

Smiling Hannah Morgan, Resident in Counseling, with long brown hair in a cream cardigan stands indoors beside a leafy plant against a beige wall.

One of my favorite parts of owning Body and Mindfully Healthy is watching talented clinicians grow into their roles and develop their own unique style of helping others. Today, I am excited to introduce Hannah Morgan, Resident in Counseling, who is accepting new clients.

Hannah brings a warm, genuine, and down-to-earth approach to counseling that resonates particularly well with teenagers, young adults, and individuals navigating life's transitions. Her ability to create a safe, judgment-free space allows clients to feel comfortable being themselves while working toward meaningful goals.

A Passion for Helping Others Find Their Voice

When Hannah reflects on what inspired her to become a therapist, it comes down to two things: her interest in psychology and her desire to help people who may feel unheard.

She recognized early on that she loved learning about human behavior and wanted to use that knowledge to support others. As she became more aware of the needs within her community, she realized how many people were struggling and needed someone to listen, understand, and advocate for them.

That passion continues to drive her work today.

Supporting Counseling Clients Through Life's Transitions

One of Hannah's primary areas of focus is helping clients navigate life's uncertainties.

Whether it's transitioning into adulthood, adjusting to a new phase of life, coping with trauma, or facing the anxiety that comes from not knowing what comes next, Hannah enjoys helping clients build confidence and resilience during difficult seasons.

She is particularly passionate about working with teenagers, a population that often faces tremendous pressure, rapid change, and uncertainty.

Many of her clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed by the future, struggling with anxiety, or trying to figure out who they are and where they fit in the world.

Through counseling, Hannah helps clients develop coping skills, establish healthy boundaries, and build the confidence needed to move forward.

Creating a Safe Place to Be Yourself

If you were to ask Hannah to describe her counseling style in three words, she would choose:

Empathetic. Judgment-Free. Resourceful.

Those qualities shine through in her work.

One of the things I appreciate most about Hannah is her authenticity. She doesn't try to be someone she isn't, and she believes that therapy works best when both counselor and client show up as real people.

She explains:

"I meet every client where they are at. I don't pretend to know something or be someone I'm not."

For clients who feel nervous about starting therapy, this authenticity can be incredibly reassuring.

Hannah understands that opening up to a stranger can feel intimidating. She often reminds clients that while talking about personal struggles can be scary, having a safe place to process those thoughts and emotions is often more helpful than people realize.

Her goal is to create a space where clients can laugh, cry, process difficult emotions, and simply be themselves.

Helping Clients Discover Their Worth

One message Hannah hopes every client hears and believes is simple:

"You are worthy of having a good, abundant, full life."

That belief serves as a foundation for much of her work.

Many of the goals her clients achieve in therapy involve learning to set boundaries, improve relationships, develop healthier coping strategies, and recognize their own value.

She believes healing doesn't always look dramatic or obvious.

Sometimes growth looks like communicating honestly with someone who has repeatedly hurt you.

Sometimes it means trying a new hobby, joining a community group, or stepping outside your comfort zone despite feeling nervous.

Growth can happen in small moments that gradually create significant change over time.

Challenging Mental Health Stigma

Like many counselors, Hannah is passionate about reducing the stigma surrounding mental health care.

One of the misconceptions she encounters most frequently is the belief that therapy is only for people who are "crazy" or experiencing severe mental health concerns.

The reality is much different.

Hannah believes that therapy can benefit anyone.

Life is stressful. Relationships are complicated. Transitions can be overwhelming. Sometimes we simply need a supportive person to help us sort through our thoughts and emotions.

She is particularly interested in helping educate the community about the long-term effects of trauma and normalizing conversations about mental health support.

As a field, we have made progress in reducing stigma, but there is still work to do. Clinicians like Hannah are helping make therapy more approachable and accessible for individuals who may otherwise hesitate to seek help.

More Than a Therapist

One of the things clients often enjoy learning about their therapist is who they are outside of the office.

A fun fact about Hannah is that she is a twin and works alongside her sister.

Outside of counseling, she enjoys reading, spending time with her niece, walking her dogs, and spending time near the water whenever possible.

Her favorite form of self-care includes walking her dogs and getting a massage.

When she needs to decompress after a stressful day, you'll likely find her with the windows rolled down, music turned up, and enjoying a drive.

Hannah's Message to Future Clients

If you are considering therapy but have been putting it off, Hannah wants you to know that you don't have to wait until things get worse.

You don't need to have all the answers.

You don't need to have a diagnosis.

You don't need to be in crisis.

You simply need to be willing to take the first step.

Her goal as a therapist is to help you reach your goals, discover yourself, and build a life that feels authentic and meaningful.

At Body and Mindfully Healthy, we are excited to have Hannah as part of our team and look forward to watching the positive impact she continues to make in the lives of her clients.
