Honored and Humbled: National Certification & VCA Conference Announcement

I’m filled with gratitude and pride to share two meaningful milestones in my professional journey as a therapist, advocate, and trauma-informed clinician.

National Certified Counselor (NCC) Credential Achieved

I’m honored to now hold the title of National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC). This credential is more than just a designation. It represents a national benchmark of excellence in professional counseling. Earning this credential demonstrates a counselor’s ongoing commitment to:

  • Upholding the highest standards of ethical practice

  • Pursuing lifelong learning and continuing education

  • Providing quality care to clients with diverse needs

  • Advocating for the mental health profession at large

As a National Certified Counselor, I’m proud to align myself with thousands of other counselors nationwide who value integrity, compassion, and competency in the service of mental wellness.

Announcement Selected to Present at the 2025 Virginia Counselors Association Conference

In addition, I am deeply honored to have been selected as a presenter at the 2025 Virginia Counselors Association (VCA) Annual Conference. My presentation will center on a topic that sits at the heart of my work with clients:

"Reclaiming the Self After Trauma: Utilizing EMDR to Support Identity Redefinition in Trauma Survivors"

This session will explore how Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy can support clients in:

  • Explain how trauma disrupts identity formation and self-concept.

  • Identify core negative cognitions that shape post-trauma identity.

  • Utilize future template work to help clients envision and embody a self beyond trauma.

  • Integrate psychoeducation and strengths-based strategies to support clients’ post-traumatic growth and identity reintegration.

As both a clinician and a human who believes in the transformative power of healing, I look forward to contributing to the ongoing conversations that strengthen our profession and support the people we serve.

Moving Forward with Purpose

These two recognitions are meaningful not just as accomplishments, but as reflections of the mission that drives me every day, which is to walk alongside people as they reclaim their voice, their story, and their wholeness. Whether I’m sitting in a therapy room, teaching, writing, or speaking at a conference, I remain rooted in this purpose.

Thank you to my clients, colleagues, mentors, and community for your trust and support along the way. I look forward to the continued journey ahead grounded in heart, guided by integrity, and fueled by hope.
